So many things have changed in the poker world. In the 70's the poker rooms were leased out by gamblers. The casinos really had nothing to do with The Faro games or poker games. The uniforms were matching but the employees did not receive any insurance or other benefits that the club offered to other dealers. the card rooms were all filled with men and there were no women dealing poker in Las Vegas until 1972. The dealers had to take much more abuse in those days too. one dealer that I knew at The Aladdin was actually urinated on by a crusty old card player. Yes. he whipped it out under the table and peed on her leg. She didn't want to lose her job so she wiped her self off when she got up from the table and went on to the next game. I would have handled that situation quite a bit differently. Of course these weirdos pick on dealers that they think they will get away with. I could never deal in a place where I was not protected. As a dealer it is very important to have a back up & strong floor person. I have not been p_ _ _ _ _ d on but I have had been threatened with murder. thank goodness we are in the limelight now!
