Careful what you wish for. I'm sure you have heard this said many times because it is such a truism. When getting involved with someone over the Internet you must be extra cautious. Adding a player to your game that you don't even know requires a little background check. If they have no background, then you may be in trouble. You must be cautious when you meet someone and especially when there is money involved. If you are inviting someone into your home game, it is best if you personally know them or they are recommended by someone that you know. Rule of thumb but not set in stone!
